Appifex guides

Ten walkthroughs, ordered roughly the way a project actually goes: build something, put a server behind it, take it to the stores, then keep it running. Each one is self-contained — start wherever your project is.

Start here

  • Build your first app — the five-minute path from a description to a live preview you can open on your phone. Start here if you have not generated anything yet.
  • Builder vs Coder mode — when to let the AI drive and when to open the editor yourself. Worth reading early; it decides how the rest of your project feels.

Building for each platform

  • Building web apps — React, TypeScript and Tailwind, from a prompt to a deployed site.
  • Building mobile apps — React Native and Expo for iOS and Android from one codebase, previewed on a real phone with a QR code.
  • Apple native apps — Swift and SwiftUI when you need what React Native cannot reach: Apple Watch, Apple TV, Vision Pro, widgets and deep system integration. Requires a Mac runner.
  • Website to mobile app — turning an existing Appifex web app into a native iOS and Android app with one prompt.

Adding the rest of the stack

  • Adding a backend — a Python API with its own PostgreSQL database, authentication and endpoints, generated alongside the app rather than bolted on afterwards.
  • Using images — uploading to chat, referencing external URLs, the Assets tab, and generating images from a prompt.

Keeping it running

  • Fixing errors in your app — reading build failures, runtime errors and crashes, and what the Fix Agent handles on its own.
  • Team collaboration — inviting people, sharing projects, role-based access and the GitHub side of working together.

Where to go next

  • Publish your app — connect your Apple, Expo and cloud accounts, then ship to TestFlight, the App Store and Google Play.
  • Writing effective prompts — the single biggest lever on what the generated app looks like.
  • Troubleshooting — the specific failures people hit most, and the fix for each.
